The Art of Sorting Cards

Solitaire is a game with simple rules but a surprising amount of strategic depth. The unblocked gameplay allows you to focus on the intricate puzzle of the cards. The game is set up with seven columns of cards, with the top card of each column face up. The rest of the deck forms a stockpile. The goal is to move all the cards to the four empty foundation piles. You can build up the foundation piles by placing an Ace of any suit, and then sequentially adding the two, three, and so on, of that same suit. To do this, you must manipulate the cards in the seven columns below. You can move a card onto another card in the columns if it is of the opposite color and one rank lower. For example, you can place a red six on a black seven. You can also move entire sequences of cards together. When you reveal a face-down card in a column, you can turn it over. If you run out of moves, you can draw cards from the stockpile. The challenge is to uncover all the cards and move them to the foundations.

Strategies for a Successful Game

While the luck of the draw plays a role in Solitaire, a strategic approach will significantly increase your chances of winning. The unblocked version is the perfect place to practice your technique. The most important tip is to always try to reveal face-down cards in the columns. This gives you more information and more options. Before you move a card from the stockpile, always check to see if you can make a move within the columns first. It is generally a good idea to try and clear out one of the columns completely. An empty column is a very powerful tool, as you can then move any King (or a sequence starting with a King) into that empty space. Think a few moves ahead. If you have a choice between two possible moves, consider which one will lead to a better board state and open up more possibilities. With a bit of practice and some clever card management, you will be solving Solitaires with the best of them.
